Level 3

Level 3 - Less common sounds
- Level 3 should be completed by all children for both reading and spelling.
- Children may come here straight after Level 1, for reading.
- OR, they may come here after Level 2 for reading and/or spelling.
- Reading lessons can be taken at the child's pace and will not include the dictations unless doing the level for both reading and spelling, as the child will do this level again for spelling at a later date.
- I advise much revision of word lists as you move through the programme.
- Spelling lessons will follow the normal weekly teaching routine.
- Special needs pupils may need more than one week on each sound.
- Use flashcards if necessary.
