'o' saying 'u'
Some of these sound as if they end in the letter 'v' but it is a fact that no English letter ends in 'v' but must always have an 'e' after them. Explain this to your student. Then try these words. The 'e' is silent, they are not powerful 'e' words.

They had their lunch, and then Jack had a nasty shock. "I think I have lost some money," he said. He felt in all the pockets of his jacket. Then he looked in the front of the truck. No money! He started to worry. "I must have lost it somehow," he said.
