For most children, Level 4 will only be for spelling, but it will strengthen weak readers where necessary.

The Writing Course
Level 4 writing course teaches the craft of writing systematically.
Rather than simply encouraging pupils to make their writing sound impressive, it teaches them how to develop and organise ideas, construct effective sentences and paragraphs, choose words carefully, and revise and improve their work.
The course is designed to develop thoughtful, independent writers, giving pupils a strong foundation for more advanced writing as their knowledge, maturity and reasoning develop.
