Level 3 Reading Books |
On completion of Level 1 most children should move on to Level 3 for reading.
Our new Level 3 graded reader is the next recommended step as it takes pupils on to learn less common sounds in more complex words, and widens the child's reading vocabulary in the true Reading Made Simple style, ensuring that the child does not meet a word for which the phonic knowledge to decode as not first been learnt.
Each sound is studied until the given words in the family are read fluently. A passage is then read as many times as needed until the child can read it fluently.
There is no time limit as to how long to spend learning each sound.
This full colour book can be purchased on Amazon.
Or downloaded as a PDF. Both at cost.

The following books do not provide as progressive a reading scheme as in Level 1, but they are graded, so that a child reading them after the indicated sound has been learnt will have the knowledge needed to sound out the words.
Choose books that suit your child's level of reading ability, with no more that 5% of words unknown per text. This list is by means exhaustive. increasingly your pupil will be able to read more and more. What is important now, is that your pupil is helped to develop the reading stamina needed to read longer texts while coping with more complex phonic sounds.
Help your child to sound out longer/more complex words as s/he takes off into the wonderful world of reading.
If your child meets a word for which s/he does not have the phonic skills to decode, simply tell your child the word (or model how to sound it out, if you know. As you move through Level 3, these difficulties will be overcome.

This is very simple
The reading books are in colour, but if it is too expensive to print in colour, then just set your printer to print in black and white. |
