Dictation for Friday Jack thinks he must see the nurse. The nurse says he has injured his knee and must stay at home and rest for a while. He rings Frank to tell him. "That is awful!" says Frank. Jack takes him six peaches, some cream and a good book to read as a surprise. "You will have lots of time for reading," he explains. That evening, Jack reads the story. It is about a plane flight.
Teaching notes: See the activity pack for exercises to teach the use of the apostrophe to indicate possession and commas before giving the dictation. Give support to your pupil as s/he writes the dictation to make sure they are used correctly. Continue to give support to your child to use the exclamation mark correctly.
