au - Dictation
Dictation for Friday
One bright and sunny day in August, as Mum is doing the laundry, Sam informs her that he and his friend Paul plan to launch their little sailing boat into the sea and go for a long sail.
"Because it is unusual to have such a fine wind with a low tide, we want to make the most of it," explains Sam. Tom drives them down to the beach. There is much to do before they can launch the little boat. They must hoist the sail and rig the boat. In addition, they must check the wind direction. They will take caution not to go too far from the beach. They must pay attention at all times. They do not wish to cause a panic.
Teaching notes:
- Talk about August needing a capital letter - a name.
- Talk about panic, like picnic just ending in a 'c', not 'ck'.
