Spelling is now getting a little trickier as this is now the second way we have met to represent this sound. We have learnt 'ir' and there is also 'er' to come. These words are easier to read but harder to remember which combination of letters to use for spelling.
Do remember to have the pupil memorise the words on the /ur/ list as far as is possible.
